Happy Thanksgiving!
I am super bummed that I can't celebrate American Thanksgiving with the BF and his family today. I'm also so envious...his mom makes the best food. Wherever you are today, I hope you're surrounded by family, friends and delicious food!
Here are some Black Friday deals to ponder while you digest:

Frugal Friday
Happy Friday! Unfortunately, it's a"lite" version of Fruday Fruday today . I'm off to see the BF (and half my wardrobe) this weekend. Can't wait to bask in the Cali sunshine. Have a fabulous weekend.

Love it or Hate it?
Lately, Hollywood has given us a glimpse into upcoming wedding attire trends. Here's Katie Holmes, playing bridesmaid on the set of The Romantics. While I love the colour, I'm leaning towards 'Hate It'.....definitely something I would never wear, let alone 'wear again'! What do you think of the dress?
Check out Anna Paquin's character's wedding gown. It ooks like a variation of the Amsale Bali gown, no?

A Pre-Loved (but not Used) Dress
Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend. I, unfortunately, spent the latter part of last week and this past weekend getting over a cold/cough thingy. Yuck.
So, did anyone score big at H&M this past weekend? Do TELL! (If you happen to have an extra pair of Jimmy Choos in a size 6 1/2 or 7....please send them my way.)
NEways. I wanted to let you know that the lovely Bel of And Stanley Makes Three is selling a sample bridal gown for a steal of a price - $400!!!
Here's a little blurb by Bel about the gown:
This is a sample Venus dress in perfect condition (no rips, marks, tears, missing beads) other than a missing hook and eye clasp at the very top of the back of the dress. The dress has not been altered. I'm 5'9" tall and would have had the dress hemmed only if I were wearing flats or low heels. The bust measurement would be 35-36" approx (I'm 34" and this is the only area of the dress I would have had taken in). The waist is 28-29" and hips 36" or so. It's a bridal size 10 (dress size 6-8 I guess).
If you're interested, please email Bel at bandb2010@gmail.com. She's willing to negotiate but serious offers only please. For those of you in Canada, remember you won't have to deal with any cross-border taxes/costs with this dress!

And the Winner is...........
Congratulations Chocolate Lover! I've passed along your email to Barbara and she will be contacting you shortly.
Thank you to everyone who entered contest, blogged/tweeted/facebooked about it. Both Barbara and I were overwhelmed by the number of entries (73 in total). You guys rock! A big thank you to Barbara for sponsoring the contest.
For those of you who didn't win, remember you can purchase a personalized calligraphy rubber stamp from Barbara.
Rubber Stamps (like the one pictured above) are $39.00
Self-Inking Stamps are $49.00
Self-Inking Stamps are $49.00
I myself bought the rubber stamp one as I wanted to play with different coloured ink pads but for those of you who will be using your stamp a lot (like to stamp 200 response envelopes), you might want to consider the self-inking stamp. And don't forget, Barbara is currently offering 10% discount for those who place their stamp order by or on November 30 . Just mention my blog or the Stamp Yourself Happy Giveaway when you place your order. A stamp would make a perfect gift for any occasion!
Barbara 's 10% discount offer also applies to her services. Please visit Barbara Kua Calligraphy to learn more about Barbara's calligraphy services.

2010 Wedding Gown Trends
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I know I'm a tad late on posting this but here are my favourites from NYC Bridal Market. I've grouped them by 'trends.' Let me know what you think!
All photos are from Brides.com.
Black seems to be the "colour du jour." Even black ribbon sashes adorned Vera Wang's dresses (see below). I am loving the red dress below. Bold, bright and elegant - perfect for a bride paying respects to her Asian heritage.
(l) Romona Keveza (r) Christos
Showing Off the Shoulders
(l) Carolina Herrera (r) Maggie Sottero
(l) Oscar de la Renta (r) Christos
Fabric Mix-it-Up
(l) Reva Mivasgar (r) Jenny Packham
Flattering Necklines
(l) Legends by Romona Keveza (r) Amsale
Layers, Pleats and Tulle - Oh my!
(l) Oscar de la Renta (r) Vera Wang
Reem Acra
Short is Still Sweet

I'm loving this 'woven in ribbon' (sorry, I have no idea what the proper term is!) look in both the Carlina Herrara and Anne Barge dresses below.
