Attention all Vancouver-area brides! You can bid on your dream wedding dress AND help a great cause! The Cinderella Project is a Vancouver-based charity which "works to remove social barriers and promote inclusiveness and diversity" by encouraging Canada's youth to stay in school and pursue higher education. To commemorate The Cinderella Project's 25th anniversary, the charity is auctioning off 25 brand-new bridal gowns on Sunday, May 31. There will also be other items (such as a lingerie, jewelery, chair covers) up for silent auction. they did something (kinda) similar in NYC a couple months ago. it was really cool - they had women donate their bridesmaids dresses so they could be worn again by underprivileged high school students to prom. I think that's such a neat idea! Because really, there are a lot of bridesmaid dresses that just aren't appropriate for anything but prom.
